$1,000 Sign-on BonusRoush is looking to hire an enthusiastic Diesel Mechanic I who will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The selected candidate will work independently on a variety of projects in accordance with customer instructions and expectations. As a Diesel Mechanic I at Roush, you will be part of a team working on prototype/durability experimental trucks.in a new, clean, state of the art facility with a small team of mechanics and CDL Drivers. With over 2,400 employees in facilities throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America, our unique combination of creativity and tenacity activates big ideas on a global stage.Job Summary:The Diesel Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The role will work independently on a variety of projects in accordance with customer instructions and expectations. The Diesel Mechanic I will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.As a Diesel Mechanic I, you will be responsible for:

Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections

Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.

Read, interpret, and follow service procedures

Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders

Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs

Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

To be considered as a Diesel Mechanic I, you will need:

High school diploma or equivalent

Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment

Good attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Your own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends

Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures

Preferred qualifications:

Certificate in Diesel Technology or related

National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)

State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)

Valid driver’s license

Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
