DESCRIPTIONAbout the Position: Class Summary : To perform technical clerical and records work in the Parole & Probation division of Community Justice & Rehabilitation Services, on behalf of the Department of Corrections, and to perform related duties as assigned. To perform a wide variety of typing, data entry, office support, general clerical and public contact work; and to perform related duties as assigned. The job function has considerable impact within the department, with the scope of responsibility being significant and complex. Class Characteristics: Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction assistance as new employees or as unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Employees in this classification series may have a high degree of public contact, often interacting with hostile or irate individuals. Employees in this classification require certifications related to various databases and are aware of the level of liability that is accepted when certified. These positions will work at the Parole & Probation office, located at 2699 Roosevelt Blvd, Eugene, OR 97402. Incumbent responsibilities include: reception window greeting/assisting clientele who are reporting to meet with Parole & Probation officers, continuous law enforcement related / technical data entry, and document processing. About the Division: Lane County has established a new department that brings together our Parole & Probation and Youth Services divisions to leverage the innovative and community focused work these groups do. Department Purpose & Overview The mission of Community Justice and Rehabilitation Services (CJRS) is to contribute to public safety by reducing risk, creating opportunities, and working to make positive changes in lives directly affecting the impact to the community, victims, and offenders by holding justice involved youth and adults appropriately accountable for their behavior. CJRS is a newly formed department beginning July 1, 2022. The Department includes three divisions, a newly created Fiscal division, Parole and Probation coming from County Administration, and Youth Services coming from Health and Human Services. Family Mediation is housed within CJRS and was previously part of Youth Services within Health and Human Services.Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

QUALIFICATIONSTraining:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Experience :

Two years of responsible clerical and office assistance experience

Possession of LEDS certification or ability to obtain within one (1) month of initial appointment.
