Mary's Woods, a premiersenior living community in Lake Oswego, is seeking a Food and Nutrition Manager withexcellent skills, passion, and creativity. The Food and Nutrition Manager oversees the general operations of the Dietary Department by providing feedback on policies and procedure compliance among healthcare personnel, instructing employees on safe use, care and maintenance of equipment, and supervising sanitation procedures. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to the organization's mission.Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful:

Familiar with the principles of nutrition as related to menu planning, establishing patterns for modified diets, presentation of quality food, high standards of food service, and basic principles of supervision

Reviews, monitors and corrects menus for appropriate and therapeutic menu selections

Monitors food quality and resident meal satisfaction

Participates in planning normal and special diet menus as prescribed

Interviews all new residents to assess dietary needs

Maintains and updates a weekly Nutrition at Risk Review, completes initial and quarterly nutrition assessments, and monitors resident’s weights and adjusts the nutrition service plan as needed

Provides feedback to the Food and Beverage Directoron policies and procedure compliance among healthcare personnel

Ensures that dietary personnel follow state regulated dietary policies and procedures.

Demonstrate considerable initiative and judgment involved in assigned tasks, delegating responsibilities, resolving operation problems and handling employee and resident complaints and concerns

Demonstrates knowledge of food sanitation, food safety, and food regulations

Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences

Functions and communicates effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural backgrounds

Seeks opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvement

Education and Experience Required:

Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED

College degree in nutrition/food service preferred

Must hold a Certified Dietary Manager or Registered Dietician Technician license

Must hold Serv Safe certification

AED/CRP/First Aid training required

Previous restaurant and/or food service industry experience in a senior living community or long term carefacility highly preferred

Current Oregon Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire

The starting wage depends on experience, certification and education. This is a full-time, exempt position and will include working weekends and holidays.
