This position is responsible for a assisting in the maintenance of the Oregon Tech campus. Primary responsibilities include maintaining a clean, attractive, well-landscaped appearance and safe environment related to the grounds at Oregon Tech.This position will perform all duties throughout the year. The scheduled hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00 (AM) ' 4:00 (PM); hours may change seasonally.
Classification Requirements:
- Pesticide applicators license may be required based on position duties; AND One year of experience as a grounds keeper; OR Two years experience in any occupation providing knowledge of horticulture and grounds keeping practices and procedures.
Additional Requirements:
- Two years experience as a grounds keeper
- Team Player
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders
- Self-starter
- Current, valid driver's license
- Ability to move objects weighing over 50 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain power equipment as well as perform minor equipment repairs
