Description Robert Half is partnering with a national non-profit organization to source a Staff Accountant to support the organization on an interim basis. This position is remote but requires a candidate local to the Portland Metro!
Ensure all financial transactions within the divisional unit are accurately recorded in the bookkeeping system.
Oversee the recording of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and organizational guidelines.
Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Verify balances between bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during the reconciliation process.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to prepare audit materials.
Ensure all necessary documentation and supporting evidence are readily available for audit purposes.
Address any audit findings and implement recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of financial accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
