Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet the minimum requirements for employment:
Pre-employment screening requirements: pass a pre-employment drug screen and pass a background check (some
jobs require a background checks)
Have a phone to be reachable
Have reliable transportation to be able to commute to the job. Punctuality is a must.
Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial and public works projects
Must be proficient in the operation of all common excavation equipment including but not limited too-
excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, backhoes, skid steers, off-road dump trucks. Ability to operate a motor
grader is a plus.
Knowledge in GPS machine control a plus
Possess strong organizational skills and the motivation to operate in a clean professional and safe manner
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Good communication skills, able to take direction well, think ahead and work efficiently
Must be able to follow direction, working both independently and in a team environment
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Conduct self in a way that represents the company in a safe and professional manner and be a team player
RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily start-up procedures of equipment
Daily maintenance of equipment including cleaning of filters, fueling and cleaning of cab
Communicate any damage, safety issues, or maintenance needs to supervisor
Conduct that represents the company in a safe and professional manner
Ability to work overtime as needed
Maintain and ensure consistent and accurate field reporting including daily reports, safety logs, and incident reports.
Conduct self that represents the company in a safe and professional manner
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to #50lbs, bend, and stoop, squat, kneel, reach, grip, climb etc.
Must be able to climb while maintaining 3 points of contact and walk on uneven surfaces
Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, squat, kneel and occasionally crawl
Must be able to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Position requires frequent use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and includes grasping and squeezing
Occasionally drive a company-provided vehicle
Long hours and weekend work may be required
Position will be exposed to various weather conditions, rain, sleet, snow, wind heat and cold. Jobs are performed in
outside environment with close proximity to highway traffic, heavy construction equipment and hazardous
construction, which may include high spaces.
