IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A PILOT CAR DRIVER (FLAGGER)

This is a part time on-call job with hours according to customer needs.

We are a leading employer in Springfield, Oregon, a provider of exceptional trucking services, and committed to delivering reliable and efficient transportation solutions.

As part of our dedication to maintaining a top-notch fleet, we are currently seeking a dedicated and observant Flagger/Pilot Car Driver. A Flagger/Pilot Car Driver is responsible for escorting the trucks to and from pickup and delivery locations. A Pilot Car Driver is also responsible for ensuring the safety of the traveling public, prevention of damage to the highway system and load being transported, and the reduction of any undue delay to the normal flow of traffic.

To be successful as a flagger, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Ultimately, a top-notch flagger should demonstrate a sound knowledge of state traffic regulations as well as exceptional observation skills.

Flagger Responsibilities:

Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations on all truck escorts.

Communicates with other flaggers and driver using CB radios to ensure safe passage. Informs the driver of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.

Maintain proper speed at all times as determined by management

Reports safety hazards and traffic problems to superior immediately.

Read and understand route path of a permit. Follow designated route in and out from sites as determined by management, the truck drivers and oversize overweight permits.

When appropriate use height pole to ensure safe clearance.

Provide superior customer service.

Prepares reports and maintains records.

Participate in all training

Applicants must be 21 to apply and for insurance purposes

The successful applicant will have the following skills:

excellent communication skills

team player; able to have positive working relationships with co-workers

must be reliable

must be trustworthy

safety minded

current Oregon driver's license

All applicants must be:

Have a minimum of 3 years driving experience

Clean driving record-No DUI's

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Ability to speak, read and write the English language
