A well-respected and long established customer service oriented company, Overhead Door Company, has an opening for a Residential Installer. This position represents the company image at all times to both our customers and the public, through safe, professional service. Our mission is to provide superior customer service.
This person must have a positive attitude mixed with a genuine concern for customer service. The most effective Commercial Garage Door Installer will perform their duties in an organized, efficient manner in order to provide the highest quality and fastest service possible. This person should also be willing to complete all assignments and follow through on customer service requirements.
A qualified applicant must also possess a current driver’s license and maintain a good driving record, along with good written and verbal English skills. This person must also be able to read a tape measure, level and have basic hand tool skills. It is important also to be able to learn the local geographical area. It is also necessary that this person be able to work outdoors during seasonal temperature fluctuations for up to 90% of the day.
Level of Supervision Required:
Direction beginning each work day and as needed via cell phone while installing the garage door.
Job tasks include but are not limited to:
Load/unload product from vehicle
Assemble/Install product at job sight
Test all product functions after installation including safety tests
Customer training of product (as needed)
Clean/Maintain all fluid levels in vehicle, as needed
Complete all paperwork, including collecting payment at job sight
High level of communication with supervisor about job status’
Insure tools, vehicle and product are maintained and handled in a safe manner
Perform some shop duties and job checks
Maintain clean, neat and properly organized truck and job sights
Restock truck as needed

Physical Requirements:
Standing/Walking (2 hours at one time, 6 hours out of an 8 hour day)
Installing garage doors/openers on concrete and gravel
Sitting (1/2 hour at a time, 1 hour in an 8 hour day)
Sitting in vehicle, drive time
Carry/Lifting
Weight will range from 0-85lbs, door sections, door openers and related parts as long as 25 feet long
Bending
Will bend at waist and/or with knees, 15% of the day
Twisting
Will twist upper torso and hips 85% of day with or without lifting or holding objects
Climbing
Climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of less than 15 steps up to 50% of the day
