Job Description
Job Title: Audio Visual Design Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Wage Grade: Grade Six
Approved Date: February 8, 2005; December 1, 2005; August 7, 2019
Summary:
Responsible for the development and design of all audio visual systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and produce all audio-visual design, drawings, non-stock and wire pulls utilizing Autocad and Microsoft Office and other related software.
Establishes, trains and directs standard work procedures and data filing methodology company wide.
Completes all Crestron custom programming and oversee the basic
programming of all non-custom installations.
Provides audio-visual technical support to Production, Service and Delivery as needed.
Produces documentation and quotes for service centers as needed.
Researches audio-visual products, new innovations and support Marathon's
Research and Development activities.
Customer contacts as needed to clarify/confirm the customers technical
requests.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have quality hearing capabilities to perform aspects of the position.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
