While there are some aspects of caregiving to this position, there is so much more to it. Successful Transition & Childrens Services Direct Support Professionals (T&C DSPs) will be ethical, patient, reliable, tenacious, compassionate, able to work independently, and adaptable. This position will require advanced knowledge of mental health and positive behavioral support, advanced training expectations, and when appropriate and necessary, sharing of overall department/team goals. This position must encourage the best practice of supporting people using evidence-based therapeutic models and environmental change to achieve consistent, stable, and productive lives. T&C DSPs will be working mostly in 24-hour residential home settings to provide safety, stability, nurturing, and life skills education, while also ensuring every child gets to experience a fun-filled, positive, and loving environment in which to grow and develop.

Job Type: Full-Time - all open shift hours are set and vary depending on the needs of the individual. 30 Hours and above are considered full time. Some set part time shifts may be available.

Pay: $18.50 per hour

An added differential of $1.00 is applied to the base wage of $17.50/hour after all required trainings are completed. We are also offering a $1,000 sign on bonus that is paid out in increments at set milestones of your employment!

Job Specific Requirements:

-Must be at least 18 years of age (Diploma/GED not required).

-Be able to regularly lift a minimum of 25 lbs (some shifts require more).

-Be able to be certified and maintain an acceptable level of certification in Oregon Intervention System (OIS).

-Be able to be certified and maintain certification in CPR/First aid.

-Pass a state/federal Criminal history and protective service investigation check, this may include being fingerprinted.

-Pass a pre-employment drug screen for the use of illegal substances in Oregon.

-Possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

-Basic computer skills - computer assessment will be administered before hiring.

Training Requirements and Expectations:

-Attend a required Meet and Greet. This is the scheduled first day of work.

-Shadow shifts between Meet and Greet and Orientation Training.

-Attend a two week in-person paid orientation training.

-Complete all classes and submit all documentation required during orientation.
