Luvable Animal Refuge is hiring an Animal Care Technician to work three part time evening shifts from approximately 4 or 5 pm until 7 or 8 pm. More shifts may be available in the future.
Luvable is a non-profit animal sanctuary and adoption center. We are looking for someone with a passion for animals who is able to care for dogs of all sizes and activity levels.
Job duties include food prep and feeding, administering medication, supervised outside time with the dogs, dog walks and other forms of enrichment as well as laundry, cleaning dog living areas both indoors and outdoors. You must be physically fit enough to walk/stand constantly, walk large athletic dogs, and carry 30 pounds.
We are looking for someone reliable, self-motivated, physically strong, with a good attitude and work ethic. A good memory and the ability to understand and follow detailed directions is a must! Dog care is needed in all weather conditions. You must be able to maintain physical activity in high heat or cold conditions.
You must not only love dogs, but be committed to their care and show up reliably, knowing their lives count on you! We are located in rural Southeast Eugene so a 4WD car is a big plus!
Preference will be given to applicants with paid OR volunteer experience caring for dogs, so please describe any relevant dog experience in detail when you apply. Dog training or veterinary experience is a plus.
Starting pay is $16.00 per hour with a raise to $17.00 per hour after a successful 3 months. Only those applicants who send a resume and describe their dog care experience will be considered.
