Walama Restoration Project
Field Technicians work outdoors in all weather conditions, across uneven terrain and for 8-10 hours a day. Tasks involve bending, twisting, crouching, lifting over 50 lbs at time and walking up to 4-5 miles per day.
Job duties include:
Invasive weed removal with non-chemical methods including hand weeding, flame weeding and shade tarping.
Planting bareroot plants, plugs, bulbs and cuttings
Mowing with Stihl trimmers and brushcutters
Botanical surveys, rare plant and invasive weed identification
Debris removal, fuels reduction, wood chipping, brush and sapling removal
Seed and propagule collection, native plant nursery propagation and maintenance
Working with the public including community volunteers, K-12 and higher educational students
Field Technicians are trained in all areas of work but previous experience is a plus. Starting Wage is between $20-$24/hr BOE. Qualified applicants can send their resume to [email protected].
