CADC and/or QMHA eligible pay range: $22.23-$24.56/hour
QMHP eligible pay range: $25.58-$31.63/hour
The AFS Clinic is seeking Counselors to join a dynamic and friendly team. Our counselors work directly in local high schools, providing substance use and mental health services. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in educational settings and research environments. There is an emphasis on training, supervision, and professional development for this position. Applicants without a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification or a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) certification will be trained and supported to achieve these certifications as a benefit of employment. Similarly, applicants who meet eligibility criteria for the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification will be trained and supported to receive that certification as a benefit of employment.
Requirements:
CADC and QMHA Eligible (see https://www.mhacbo.org/en/certifications/ )
o Bachelor’s degree with coursework appropriate to the position OR 3-years related experience in related field required or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position
QMHP Eligible (see https://www.mhacbo.org/en/certifications/ )
o Master’s degree with major course work in Counseling, Marriage and Family, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work or a related field.
Valid Driver's License
What we are looking for:
Experience working in school settings and/or working with adolescents
Experience with a behavioral approach to treatment
Flexibility in regard to work schedule (flexible weekday hours during usual school hours)
Experience implementing evidence-based or protocol-driven treatment
Demonstrated skill organizing and communicating (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
Initiative to accomplish project tasks as needed and to apply skills and knowledge to new applications
Job Duties:
Delivers cognitive-behavioral interventions to adolescents with substance use and/or mental health problems
Provides case management services, such as connecting families with needed resources, working with teachers or school officials, etc.
Develops comprehensive treatment plans
Works effectively in a team environment, requiring participatory decision-making/cooperative interactions among employees
Completes clinical documentation using an electronic health record system in a timely manner.
