Obsidian Integration LLC is a small, but rapidly growing, privately owned business located in Eugene, Oregon. We primarily work with Federal/State and Local Law Enforcement Nationwide to design and build specialized video equipment. These systems utilize integrated electronic components, electro-mechanical and audio/video equipment.
Position Details:
Hours: Part to Full Time Hourly Rate

Pay Rate: $25-30/hr, depending on experience

Job Summary:
As a QC/Programming Technician, you will play a crucial role in our mission to deliver top-tier, cutting-edge technology to law enforcement agencies across the nation. In this pivotal position, you will be entrusted with the programming, configuration, and quality control of sophisticated A/V products designed for the most demanding environments.
Your work will be instrumental in ensuring that each component operates flawlessly within a holistic system. This includes hands-on involvement with IP and network configurations, making precise configuration changes to devices, and developing standardized procedures and checklists. You’ll be at the forefront of testing and fine-tuning settings, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed the rigorous standards required for law enforcement operations.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will manage critical processes such as RMA handling, where your keen eye for detail will be essential in evaluating, repairing, and reprogramming devices before they are shipped back to our clients. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and effectiveness of the technology used to protect communities, making your role integral to our success and mission.
Responsibilities:
Perform basic to mid-level IP and network configuration tasks for device and computer network setups.
Access electronic device configurations and apply basic or advanced configuration changes as needed.
Follow and develop standardized configuration procedures and checklists.
Test and iterate on settings to ensure holistic system operation and cohesive functionality with related system components.
Understand end user requirements and suggest configurations and settings to meet those needs.
Install firmware updates and ensure proper functioning of electronic devices.
Identify non-working features, settings, or capabilities and provide solutions on both the specific system and as systemic level changes to improve future efficiency.
Possess an understanding of electronic systems communications, including basic settings, firmware, networking, templates, and local, remote, and software as a service or hosted technologies.
Perform internal RMA processing, device evaluation, testing, repair, reprogramming, and shipment back to customers.
Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes, product quality, and efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college education in electronics, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in a production or technical support role, preferably in a related industry.
Experience with basic to mid-level IP and network configuration tasks.
Ability to access and modify electronic device configurations and apply configuration changes.
Ability to keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Commitment to producing high-quality work and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in reading and following written and oral instructions.
Ability to write QC checklists and create documentation for others to follow.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with video surveillance products and the law enforcement industry.
Familiarity with computers, IP security, IP cameras, networking, and cellular data systems.
Familiarity with tools and concepts such as ICMP pings, TCP/IP networking, NAT, and port forwarding.
