Obsidian Integration LLC is a small, but rapidly growing, privately owned business located in Eugene, Oregon. We primarily work with Federal/State and Local Law Enforcement Nationwide to design and build specialized video equipment. These systems utilize integrated electronic components, electro-mechanical and audio/video equipment.

An Electronics Assembler will be responsible for the manufacturing of and quality control testing for our products.

Position Details:

Hours: Part to Full Time Hourly Rate

Location: Eugene, Oregon

Travel Requirements: None

Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr, depending on experience

Law Enforcement Sensitivity Non-Disclosure Required

Benefits:

Full time position (32-40 hours per week)

Eligibility for Company Performance & Tenure Bonus

7 Paid Holidays and 40 Hours PTO Upon Completion of 30 day orientation period

Eligible for PTO Increases Starting After 1 Year

Job Skills Requirements:

Ability to follow technical instructions and interpret engineering blueprints.

A good understanding of technical terms

Familiarity of parts and materials used in production of specialized video equipment

Ability to inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process, test finished products for defects, and maintain the tools used to create products

Ability to keep a clean and well-maintained workspace

Computer efficiency in basic office suite programs

Excellent hand-eye coordination

Effective communication skills

Ability to operate soldering machines

A focus on quality workmanship

Job Summary:

As an Electronics Assembler Level III, you will be responsible for the assembly and production of our specialized products. This role requires a solid understanding of AC and DC power, wiring, mechanical assembly, and electro-mechanical systems, as well as expertise in using hand tools, performing complex fabrication tasks, and following/creating work instructions. Those that consider themselves “makers” with a history of professional or hobby work in hardware/software systems are typically ideal candidates. Some creativity and a willingness to work in a dynamic company and role, where tasks may change from day-to-day is important. An ability to work independently and meet production goals, while providing direction for junior assemblers is important. Critical thinking skills and a commitment to high-quality workmanship are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

Perform advanced assembly and production of video surveillance products, including modular and specialized components, following and/or creating complex instructions and guidelines.

Contribute to the research and development of new products.

Improve and simplify existing work instructions.

Ensure proper installation and troubleshooting of AC and DC power systems, wiring, and electro-mechanical systems.

Utilize hand tools and perform mid-level fabrication tasks as needed, examples include drilling, countersinking, operating CNC router, operating Co2 laser, soldering, crimping, etc.

Lead, coach, and mentor junior team members in assembly processes and techniques.

Write/review/approve detailed work instructions of both existing and new processes.

Inspect and test finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues during the assembly process, using critical thinking skills and proactive problem-solving.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Collaborate with team members to continuously improve processes, product quality, and efficiency.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in video surveillance technology.

Assist in the development and implementation of new assembly processes and techniques.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

5+ years of experience in electronics assembly, preferably in a related industry.

Knowledge of AC and DC power systems, wiring, and electro-mechanical systems.

Proficiency in using hand tools and performing light fabrication tasks.

Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Commitment to producing high-quality work and maintaining a strong attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with computers, IP security, IP cameras, networking, and cellular data systems.

Familiarity with video surveillance products and the law enforcement industry.

Experience with 3D modeling programs such as SolidWorks.
