MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR FOR EUGENE CONCERT CHOIR

The Eugene Concert Choir (ECC) is seeking a part-time Marketing & Public Relations Director. Now in its 51st season, the Eugene Concert Choir organization is a resident company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene and an umbrella organization comprising four performing ensembles. Each season, the Eugene Concert Choir presents a five-concert season series and an educational “For Kids” concert at the Hult Center, inspired and directed by Artistic and Executive Director Dr. Diane Retallack.

The Marketing & Public Relations Director will work collaboratively with the Artistic & Executive Director, Office Administrator & Music Education Director, and other staff and volunteers as a team, taking direction but working with independent initiative. Excellent time-management, strategic full-season planning, and task prioritization will be essential for this position. Applicants should be self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines within allocated work hours.

The successful applicant will be required to create an advertising and marketing plan for concerts and events, coordinate publicity and advertising, work with the Hult Center Box Office on ticketing activity, assist in developing season marketing materials, write publicity copy, do layout of graphics for publicity materials and concert programs, develop media partnerships, develop social media activities, assist with fundraising activities, create strategies for attracting new audience members, and represent the organization as a spokesperson.

Minimum two years experience in marketing or involvement with a not-for-profit organization preferred. Knowledge of the performing arts is a plus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Planning and Strategy

1.Create an advertising and marketing plan and timeline for concert season and events

2.Create strategies to attract new audience members and analyze results

3.Schedule and coordinate the publicity and advertising for all performances and events including paid and organic social media advertising, radio, TV, digital and print media outlets, direct mailings, and other relevant media with ECC staff and all appropriate vendors

4.Adhere to marketing budgets for each concert and event and target expenses for best exposure

5.Work with Hult Center Box Office staff to set up ticketing, discounts, group sales, and other ticketing related activity

Graphics and Layout

6.Work with graphic artist firm to create season marketing materials, messaging and collateral materials

7.Create marketing and program materials for each concert and event from graphics provided by graphic artist

8.Do layout for concert programs

9.Create invitations, program books and informational materials for fundraising events and educational outreach

10.Create outreach materials for seasonal fundraising campaigns, corporate sponsorships, program book advertising, and group package ticket sales

Write and Post

11.Update website, create Constant Contact E-News posts and develop social media activities on an ongoing basis

12.Write copy for press releases, public service announcements, and marketing materials

13.Enter concert and event information on media and community calendars

Advertising, Merchandise, and Sponsorships

14.Ensure that all recognition promises made to concert sponsors and organizations/businesses that contribute to auctions, raffles, and other fundraisers are fulfilled, i.e. recognition in advertising, on our website, event pages, e-news, and social media.

15.Manage and promote the Concert Program Book Advertising program and ad trades with other organizations.

16.Develop and maintain ECCs materials for attracting new concert sponsors.

17.Select, design, purchase, & maintain inventory of ECC Merch and handling merch sales.

Speak and Represent

18.Speak as a spokesperson representing the organization at concerts, fundraising events, media events, social service organizations, professional affiliations and other public events

19.Do radio PSAs and media interviews

20.Create and assemble materials and represent the organization for tabling at promotional events

21.Develop media and service organization partnerships for high-profile exposure

Database and Email Lists

22.Pull selected mailing and contact lists for targeted marketing from ECC Database and Hult Box Office lists

23.Build and monitor E-news email lists and social media contacts

Special Events and Campaigns

24.Assist with annual donation appeals, donor relations and fundraising events

25.Coordinate, supervise and include volunteers as appropriate

26.Assist with projects and planning as needed

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years experience marketing for a not-for-profit organization preferred Marketing certificate/diploma or equivalent experience in Marketing a plus Knowledge of the performing arts Excellent time management and communication skills Self-motivated, able to work within deadlines, budgets, and allotted work hours.

Able to develop creative marketing campaigns to promote performance season

Website working knowledge and experience with WordPress

Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Canva, Microsoft Suite, and Constant Contact experience strongly preferred

Experience creating paid campaigns in Meta Ads Manager, including audience targeting preferred Database and mailing list experience a plus, especially DonorPerfect

Now in its 51st season as an enduring and vibrant part of the cultural life of the Eugene-Springfield area and Resident Company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts since 1997, the Eugene Concert Choir is the premier choral organization in the region, providing adult mixed voices the opportunity to perform at a professional level. The Eugene Concert Choir is an umbrella organization comprising four performing ensembles: the Eugene Concert Choir, a 110-voice masterworks chorus, Eugene Vocal Arts, a select chamber choir, and Eugene Concert Orchestra, directed by Diane Retallack, and Evocantus, a young adult a cappella chamber choir directed by Chris Dobson. The organization presents a five-concert series and an educational “For Kids” concert at the Hult Center, EdOp (Education Opportunity) in-school music education program, which takes children from in-school classroom instruction to onstage performance, an annual adult Community Sing, a fall Gala fundraiser banquet and auction, and a spring cabaret dinner fundraiser. This season will also include a new Valentine’s Night Out event in partnership with the Hult Center on February 14th, 2026.
