Marketing Person
Health is the key to life, and life is better when we all strive to reach our full potential. That’s why
our mission at Physician Family Financial Advisors is to help our employees become better
versions of themselves while guiding physician families toward financial security.
That’s right: Our mission includes BOTH our team members AND our clients because taking
good care of our people is the first step in taking great care of those we serve.
For 20+ years, we’ve been turning worries about taxes, investments, and extra money into a
comfortable feeling of financial security for physician moms and doctor dads. We deliver honest
advice about buying a home, getting out of debt, investing for retirement, and saving for college.
At Physician Family, it’s all about progress, not products, because the only things we “sell” are
our knowledge, skills, and experience. We are financial planners who have a legal duty to act in
each client’s best interest, and the glue that keeps us together is our love for children.
Why are we hiring a Marketing Person?
We seem to be doing the right things and we are getting decent results but we are missing
opportunities because we lack the human resources to be consistent and follow through in our
marketing efforts. To fill the gap, we have tried agencies and contractors but their passing
interest in our mission meant they never really grasped our brand voice.
We have a podcast with raving fans, a decent ad spend and a fledgling social media presence.
Today we are looking for a dedicated marketing person who can help us take our firm not just to
the next level but several levels beyond over the coming years.
Why would you want to work here?
Maybe you don’t believe in the service you’ve been marketing. Maybe your boss–or their
committee–is unwilling to take some risk and to give your ideas a shot. Or maybe you just want
to be closer to your target market: close enough to hear even their tiniest whispered wishes.
For you, Physician Family is a clean slate, an open door and a chance to become a part of
something that really matters.
You’ll work directly with the president of the company and get a “yes” in hours, not weeks. You’ll
take part in live calls with our clients where you can delve into their deepest concerns and most
pressing needs. And last but not least, you’ll have a hand in shaping the client journey, helping
to make it an experience worth talking about… one you’ll feel proud of.
What does a Marketing Person do?
The Marketing Person’s job is to attract prospective clients by developing and executing
strategies to promote our services to appropriate consumers. Using your understanding of our
target market—doctors with children—and your data-driven insights, you will develop and run
campaigns to attract clients who are a great fit for us.
Specific duties include:
● Managing our content calendar
● Checking in with our service team to gather ideas for content and campaigns
● Producing audio, video and written content that appeals to our target market
● Managing campaigns to help prospective clients discover our content
● Coordinating marketing efforts to maintain a consistent brand identity
● Scheduling and confirming podcast guests and webinar attendees
● Gathering data to report our marketing results
● Keeping an eye on our competitors and their marketing activities
● Archiving all marketing communications
● Other marketing duties as assigned
● Complying with securities laws relating to communications and advertising
● NOT selling! We’ve got people for that.
Is this you?
You love to write. In fact, you’re a really good writer and you think it might be fun to become the
voice of our brand.
Lists and schedules are your friends. People who know you, know that you’re consistent and
you like to get things done on time.
And more than anything else, you believe it's not just getting the job done but getting results that
matter. So when your content or your campaign flops or flies, you want to know why.
Finally, no matter what you are doing - you are all in. So if you take this job, you wouldn’t even
think of working another job at the same time… no side hustles, right?
Here are the other minimum requirements:
● Must reside in the state of Oregon
● Bachelors or higher degree with a marketing-related major (communication, marketing or
journalism)
● Experience with editing and producing video
● Ability to work independently to produce deliverables and results for the firm
● Dedicated space to work, e.g., home office with reliable high-speed internet connection
● Ability to regularly attend our mandatory weekly team huddle held Tuesdays at 10:00 AM
Pacific via video conference
● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
What’s in it for you?
Never Go into the Office Again
At our fully remote company, you can enjoy all the comforts of home. We collaborate over
Google Workspace, so work gets done no matter where you are.
Work Hard, Rest Easy
Our generous leave policy means you can be refreshed and relaxed when working with our
team.
In Your Heart, Not in Your Face
Our introvert-friendly culture is excellent for quiet folks who like to get things done, but we know
you still want to keep connected with your team, so we’ll cover the cost of getting together with
one or several coworkers each year.
You… Only Better
Since part of our mission is to help you become a better version of yourself, we encourage
training, learning, growth, and everything in between by reimbursing the cost of classes,
certifications, and experiences that help you become more valuable to the firm.
Gear You’re Gonna Love
As a distributed team, we rely on the best technology so we will supply you with a shiny new
Mac, iPhone, and other stuff you’ll need to be productive in your remote office.
We’ve Got You Covered
Financial security isn’t just for doctors. It’s for our employees, too, so we offer employer-paid
medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage for all full-time employees.
A Voice In The Process. A Stake In The Outcome
We practice open-book management, so you’ll have access to the information you need to
make your position and our company a better place for everyone. And when we win, we win
TOGETHER in the form of a firm-wide discretionary bonus based on team-driven results.
Show Me the Money
The base pay for this at-will full-time position is $24.00 per hour. You’ll also gain immediate
access to a 401(k) with employer-paid contributions.
Want to join us?
We are an equal opportunity employer and all applicants will be considered for employment
regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin,
veteran or disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. If this sounds like your
dream role with your dream team, put your resume where your heart is and apply to join us at
Physician Family!
