Oregon, Eugene, 97401 Eugene USA
Aplica ya

Are you someone who loves animals and farming? Our farm is located West of Junction City, Oregon, on 300+ acres of fertile soil that houses and feeds heritage cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep and goats. We also produce sweet creamy raw milk, butter & cheese, along with fresh veggies, fruit and nuts. We stand on the principles of Regenerative Agriculture and sustainability in all forms; energetic, environmental, and financial. Practices currently employed include riparian exclusion and restoration, management intensive grazing, humane animal handling, reforestation, nutrient management, and ethical business practices & transparency.

We are looking for a team player to fill the position of Relief Milker. You will be handling and milking cows. The successful candidate will be trained in two jobs which they will rotate between: Herdsman will bring the cows from the fields into the barn, sort them for the milk line, perform the initial washing down of the cows, feed the cows after milking, bring the cows back to pasture and then clean the barn and milk line; Milker will clean the cow's udders and teats, stimulate milk letdown, attach milking equipment, collect and cool the milk, and clean and sanitize the equipment. We will provide training to the right person who can demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn.

This position involves handling livestock as well as working in an antiseptic work environment, requiring someone who enjoys animals and has high attention to detail. Milking and large animal experience is preferred but not necessary. Both roles require comfort with handling animals. We will train the right candidate.

Applicants should be able to carry up to 50lbs, and work on their feet for 5-6 hour periods at a time.

The milking shift occurs daily from 3 to 6 pm, but there are optional additional farm duties that can be added if desired, making the shift from 1 to 6 pm.
