ABOUT US
We are a small flower farm located in the Eugene countryside looking to hire someone who can be a long-term worker on our farm. We grow a variety of cut flowers, as well as a few vegetables and fruit trees. We have a CSA, sell custom bouquets, do some events, and farmer's markets. We are looking to find someone reliable, dependable and experienced to help with harvesting, planting, weeding and setting up and selling at farmer's markets. We use sustainable and regenerative growing practices - we don't spray pesticides or anything like that. We are flexible in terms of working hours and days so long as the job gets done. We would love to find someone long-term that would like to stay and grow with us.
JOB DUTIES
-Harvesting and stripping leaves from flowers in the field - ability to balance being careful with being efficient/fast
-Planting plugs and/or seeds
-Weeding
-Watering
-Mowing or weed whacking
-Setting up and selling at farmer's markets
-In future, may be involved in deliveries as well as learning to arrange bouquets

-Self-starter and able to work independently
-Hard working and diligent
-Strong (it's a physical job and can be tiring)
-Dependable - you show up when you say you're going to and finish the job
-Good sales person
-Great personality - gets along well with others
-Love flowers and growing things
-Willing to respect a sustainable farming approach
-Ok with kids and animals (we have lots of both)
-Not required, but would be great if you have any of your own equipment (weed eater, mower)
COMPENSATION AND HOURS:
-$20/hour - would prefer someone who does this kind of work for others and can be an independent contractor, but willing to discuss the possibility of hiring as an employee.
-20 to 40 hours a week from March through October. During the winter season, we may have projects as needed.
-Must be willing to work at least occasional Saturdays from 7:30-3:30 because of farmer's markets, but other days of the week can be flexible.
Requirements
-prior experience working on a fruit, vegetable or flower farm (please be as specific as possible about your experience)
-reliable transportation (we are not on a bus line so you will need your own car)
