Small family Homestead Farm in search of additional help during the growing season. We are getting ready to welcome our first baby into this world and we are in need of some extra Farm Help. Some experience required and pay rate is negotiable. This is a part-time job offering that can last through October. 20 to 30 hours per week.
Job entails predominantly weeding Garden Beds, design designing in building animal infrastructure, beekeeping, some pruning on fruits and berries, applying mulch, and establishing pathways, some machine operation, tree care, irrigation, repair, and some harvest.
We have been farming here on the Mckenzie for almost 15 years and endured some severe wildfire setbacks in 2020. We are in transition between a hobby farm and developing a more commercial side to our farming. Many of our growing methods are based in Permaculture principles and food forest design. Currently featuring over 70 varieties of fruit, countless vegetables and many different types of animals, including 20 honey bee hives.
We also currently have a residential opportunity that could feature a Work trade situation for the right person. We are located immediately on the Mckenzie near the town of Vida.
