Full Time: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k.POSITION SUMMARY: The Academy Instructor is responsible for designing and delivering individualized, differentiated instruction to Pearl Buck Academy students. Core instruction focuses on workplace skills, functional academics, computer skill building and community inclusion. Instruction will be delivered in-person and/or online depending on student need.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with educational team to develop and deliver Academy instruction to a diverse student population relative to student need, interest, and employment goals.

Collaborate with the Director of Adult and Community Services, Program Manager, Lead Academy Instructor and/or other Academy Instructors on Academy curriculum, objectives, instruction, assessment, program compliance and metrics.

Perform administrative duties as assigned.

Assist in the training and mentoring of new Teaching Assistants and Academy Instructors, including: scheduling; coordination and identification of supplies; order processed with administrative assistant; orientations and informational presentations.

Assess and record student behavior and progress related to individual goals and program objectives in NOTO and other methods as needed.

Maintain all necessary Academy records and enter data into appropriate record keeping systems.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct and/or assist with educational field trips or other events either on-site or off-site as needed.

Collaborate with other Pearl Buck staff from other departments such as LEAP and Employment Services.

Attend and participate in appropriate internal and external meetings and trainings.

Assist clients, as needed, with transferring to the bathroom and when necessary assist with toileting and attending to personal hygiene needs.

Provide support to clients during escalation.

May cross-train in other areas to support client/business needs.

If qualified, provide CPR/First Aid instruction as well as training CPR/First Aid instructors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Adult Education or related education and/or commensurate experience.

Master's Degree in education preferred.

Valid Oregon driver's license with driving record sufficient to qualify to drive agency vehicles

Ability to pass an Oregon Department of Human Services background check.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and other physical disabilities preferred.
