Are you a talented residential draftsperson with a passion for transforming design into reality? Join our team as a Building Design Specialist and play a key role in crafting dream homes for our clients!

As a Building Design Specialist your day involves drafting architectural and structural plans for residential remodeling projects, researching materials, taking measurements, and facilitating permit acquisition. The ideal candidate possesses experience in architectural and structural drafting, familiarity with light-frame construction, a grasp of the construction process, and knowledge of building codes.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position aimed at 40 hours per week. You will be required to work in the office 3+ days/week. We provide a computer and all the necessary software. Please include a link to your portfolio or attach a pdf of your work to the cover letter section of the application.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with and designers to develop detailed residential construction drawings.

Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Create 2D and 3D models to effectively communicate design concepts.

Obtain building permits and request variances and file appeals when necessary.

Collaborate with project teams to address design modifications and adjustments.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Residential Draftsperson.

Proficiency in CAD software e.g. AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit, etc.

Strong understanding of residential construction principles and building codes.

General knowledge of light-frame wood construction.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

Degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Interior Design, or related field.

Previous experience in residential design or architecture, including experience with cabinetry.

Portfolio showcasing residential drafting projects.
