JOB OPENING: EVENING EVENT SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY
Mount Pisgah Arboretum is seeking two dedicated and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Evening Event Supervisors for the 2025 event season. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of weddings and other evening events at the Arboretum’s White Oak Pavilion. The Evening Event Supervisor will provide exceptional customer service to Pavilion renters, oversee event logistics, maintain safety and security, and assist with event breakdown and cleanup.
We are hiring for two positions:
● POSITION 1: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM, May to October, with potential for additional weekday evening hours. This role requires availability for the Wildflower Festival (May 18) and the Mushroom Festival (October 26).
● POSITION 2: Saturday and Sunday evenings from 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM, May to October, with potential for additional weekday evening hours. This position may serve as a backup for Friday evening events and also requires availability for the Wildflower Festival (May 18) and the Mushroom Festival (October 26).
COMPENSATION: This is a seasonal, hourly, non-exempt position at $19.25 per hour

Benefits: Sick pay accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Oversee evening events, primarily weddings, at the White Oak Pavilion.
● Provide high-quality customer service to rental clients and vendors.
● Monitor compliance with rental agreements and park regulations.
● Maintain an event log and communicate key issues to Arboretum staff.
● Assist with event parking and guest coordination.
● Facilitate event takedown, including moving tables, chairs, and accessories.
● Conduct security checks of the Pavilion, parking areas, and surrounding grounds.
● Ensure that rental facilities and public amenities remain clean and well-stocked.
● Secure the site at the end of events, including locking facilities and gates.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Ability to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with some variable weekday availability.
● Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with rental clients, vendors, and the public.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and follow instructions.
● Enjoyment of weddings and large events.
● Capability to patrol grounds for security purposes.
● Ability to walk trails, stand for extended periods (30+ minutes), and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
● Ability to enforce policies and facility rules diplomatically.
● Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation.
● Excellent reliability and punctuality.
