Northwest Media, Inc. is a locally owned, Eugene based web company that provides training for foster, kinship and adoptive families nationwide. We have been in business for over 34 years. Our current Business Manager has retired, and we are looking for someone to fill this position. As in most small businesses, the position requires a diverse set of skills and the ability to work as a team member.

Northwest Media is seeking an Accountant/Business Manager.
The right person will play an integral role in supporting our team. We are looking for someone who:

Overview of the position: the Accountant/Business Manager is responsible for all accounting functions; is responsible for the HR function; oversees facility maintenance; serves as back-up for customer support; assists owner with landlord responsibilities; works closely with office staff; handles other tasks as needed.
Job Description
The Accounting/Business Manager requires a strong understanding of accounting principles. The position will be in charge of all accounting activities, which include:
Accounting – We use Sage Accounting Software Program:
Accounts payable
Preparing payroll for third-party processor
Reconciling bank accounts & credit card statements
Accounts receivable
Generate, reconcile & record payroll transactions
Monthly financial statement reconciliation & preparation
Cash flow reporting (Spreadsheet)
Account analysis to ensure account accuracy
Coordinates & maintains product inventory
Human Resources –
All staff hiring & turnover process
Administer the retirement plan
Maintain applicable files & notifications
Coordinate health insurance renewal
Track & maintain PTO records
Provide guidance, information & training to employees as needed/required
Maintain a positive, productive work place
Other –
Coordinates & communicates facility needs
Coordinates facility, maintenance & supply vendors as needed
Maintains office & other supply levels
Other duties as assigned
Requirement for Skills & Attributes –
Extensive knowledge and experience in accrual-based accounting and office management
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
Team player and a decision maker.
Honest, hard-working & fair
Proficiency with Microsoft Office & accounting software
Strong communication, organizational & teamwork skills are essential
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- 3+ years of experience with bookkeeping and office management including HR skills
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles (you'll be tested)
- Proficiency with an accounting software (we use Sage 50) , Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
The right candidate will work in our office in downtown Eugene; full or part time.
Salary up to $60,000 + benefits and will be based on qualifications; benefits begin after 3 months include health insurance, PTO; after first year, the candidate qualifies for the Simple Plan retirement program.
