Project Estimator (Direct Placement for Client) SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a custom manufacturer seeking an experienced Project Estimator to join their facility in Estacada, OR. This company opened in 1979, and since that time has been doing quality manufacturing, machining, and assembly work for their customers. PTO Policy: Employees receive 40 hours of PTO after 90 days. After one year, an additional 40 hours are granted (totaling 80 hours). In the second year, another 40 hours are added (120 hours total). Each subsequent year, 8 additional hours are accrued annually until reaching a maximum of 160 hours of PTO.
Bonus Program: Monthly bonuses are based on delivered parts and forecast objectives, with amounts ranging from $300, $500, $700 and $1,000, depending on workload and deliverables met.

Primary Function:
The Project Estimator will manage client relationships, process requests for quotes (RFQs), and oversee the project lifecycle. This role ensures designs are machinable and meet compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, ISO), while effectively managing project timelines and processes.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Interact with clients to understand their requirements and process RFQs.
Assist with quoting by providing detailed and accurate cost and timeline estimates.
Ensure designs are manufacturable and comply with industry standards and regulations.
Oversee project timelines, processes, and deliverables to ensure on-time completion.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline production processes.
Analyze and resolve technical issues, providing solutions aligned with customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.
Utilize JobBOSS software and Excel to track project progress and maintain accurate records.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM, or a related field preferred.
3- 4 years of relevant experience in fabrication, machining, or a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of machining processes and fabrication methods.
Proven ability to manage and supervise projects from conception to completion.
Experience with project estimating and RFQ processing in a manufacturing environment.
Effective communication and organizational skills to coordinate between clients and internal teams.
Ability to pass background check and drug test upon acceptance of an offer.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
