We are seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic that also has a strong electrical background to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance, specifically with diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Also the canidate needs to be able to diagnose and repair various electrical issues as it pretains to Heavy Diesel Trucks. The Diesel Mechanic will also provide excellent customer service while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including inspections, oil changes, and filter replacements.

- Utilize automotive diagnostics to identify issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.

- Conduct repairs on air brake systems, suspension components, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical systems.

- Operate power tools and heavy machinery safely to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.

- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.

- Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working in the shop.

- Lift heavy components as required during repairs or replacements.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with a focus on vehicle maintenance. Minimum three years expirence working with Clas A trucks and trailers and other heavy equipment.

- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, automotive diagnostics, air brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical and suspension systems.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely as needed.

- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees regarding their vehicle needs. Vehicles include diesel trucks, heavy machinery, some farm equipment, gas/diesel pickups, hydraulic systems and some small engines.

- Proficient in using power tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to diesel mechanics.

- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are a plus. CDL Class A is highly desired.
