Job Definition: Under the general supervision of the Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Directors, this position performs a variety of tasks with the major responsibility being that of providing exceptional instructional-related services for families and students participating in a virtual schooling program.
Reports to: Program Directors of Distance Learning Solutions, Inc.
Job Characteristics: Instructional-related services shall include communication, skill development, the expansion of knowledge, and the development of the ability to reason. The use of independent judgment and decision-making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents.
Primary Functions:
We have an opening for an Educational Specialist (Remote; Virtual) for the 2024-2025 school year. In this role, you will:
Guide instructional plans according to individual student needs using a variety of curricula and virtual tools
Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms
Complete daily and monthly reports
Answer and respond to student portfolio submissions, report cards, emails, texts, and phone calls on a daily basis
Maintain tracking/spreadsheet of student and family data
Communicate and meet with the Special Ed team as caseload requires
Attend and participate in all required company and program virtual meetings
Plan and teach weekly virtual classes
Travel to and manage field trips in a variety of locations
Give, receive, and incorporate feedback
Contribute to the continuous innovation that is required of a unique distance learning program
Use a variety of computer software, including Google Suite for Education, and MS Excel

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree
Current State of Oregon Teaching License
Endorsements as required by the Oregon Department of Education with the appropriate endorsement in areas of assignment. Educational Specialists must have obtained the TSPC Elementary-Multiple Subjects or its equivalent license endorsement
Experience:
One year of successful teaching experience within the subject area OR successful completion of an Oregon instructional internship program
Three years experience, preferred
Other minimum qualifications:
Must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions
Operational knowledge of the internet and related technologies
Must be able to pass a background check
Obtain First Aid and CPR certification
Candidates must live in the state of Oregon to hold this position.
Salary and Benefits:
Educational Specialist's starting salary is $60,049.
Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. Will pay 100% family premium for family Major Medical, Dental, and Vision.
Distance Learning Solutions, Inc. is not a PERS employer but does contribute a % of salary to the 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
This job requires sitting or standing at a workstation for most of the day.

Frequency of travel: Occasional travel may be required to various sites for field trips, meetings, trainings, and conferences; assigned locations will vary, and may require overnight stays
