Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our team. As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for performing various welding techniques to fabricate and assemble metal structures according to specifications.
Duties:
Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements
Set up and operate welding equipment and tools
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and shaping as necessary
Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of metal components
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs or adjustments
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Welder or similar role
Proficient in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
Familiarity with plasma cutting, soldering, ductwork fabrication, press brake machines, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), pipe threading, and blueprint reading
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
Knowledge of welding codes and standards is preferred
