Forslund Crane Service, a non-smoking facility, is looking for a full-time heavy equipment diesel mechanic in its Albany, OR, location. Position is Full-time, Monday thru Friday and occasional afterhours as needed.
Job Duties:
Diagnose and repair heavy diesel trucks, trailers and chassis
Diagnose and repair a variety of equipment, including, heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts, and passenger vehicles
Perform standard housekeeping tasks to keep work area and shop tidy and clean
Perform regular maintenance on heavy diesel trucks, cranes, trailers and pickups
Perform annual inspections for trucks, trailers and chassis as required by FMCSA
Work with outside mechanics, as needed, for specialty repairs
Order parts needed for repairs, as directed by a supervisor and within budget
Use welding equipment , hand and machine tools to manufacture and repair parts—preferred but not required
Operate company forklift, as needed
Follow all established safety procedures and participate in Safety Committee
Wear Personal protective equipment.
Additional duties as company assigns them
Qualifications:
Three+ years heavy truck/equipment mechanic experience or combination of schooling and experience
Valid CDL Class A license and medical card, preferred but not required
Must Pass Pre-employment and Random Drug Screens and background check
Ability to understand and follow detailed instruction
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written, with coworkers and management
Must be able to walk, bend, climb, reach, pull, push, stoop, squat, grasp, sit, drive, stay in same position for long periods of time and lift up to 100 pounds
Qualified to perform annual inspections required by Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), preferred
Must have or ability to get air brake certification.
Knowledge and experience with hydraulics
Have own tools, preferred
