Position Title: Forestry Operator/Technician

Finster Forestry LLC aims to serve private landowners with excellence and integrity in their forest and land management needs.
Forestry Technician/Operator will assist in operations ranging between forestry, clearing, fuel reduction, and restoration projects. This position will be field based with projects located across Western Oregon. Immediate and major focus will be operating a forwarder for a CTL thinning operation (9-12 months/year), with supplementary work in other areas mentioned (forestry data collection, shovel logging, cat logging, brush piling, etc). Majority of work within 30min – 1.5 hrs of Corvallis OR. Individual will be expected to partake in company provided training for operating heavy equipment on wildfire incidents, with potential short term seasonal work away from home.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Chainsaw use
- Operating heavy equipment (forwarder, log loader, excavator, dozer)
- Basic mechanical maintenance and repair
- Forestry field work
- Fire watch
- Wildfire Equipment Operating
Minimum Qualifications
Age 18+
Ability to adhere to safe working procedures
Willingness to communicate and work in teams
Insurable driving record with valid driver’s license
Interest in forestry
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy equipment operation & maintenance
Forestry knowledge
Cut-To-Length system experience
Log loading & shovel experience
