Purpose: To provide a wide range of data collection, analysis, and interpretation to the district and other entities, and provide training and support for building and district departments.

Hours: 8 hours per day

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Contract Status: Regular/Probationary

FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Classified

Start Date: As soon as possible

Calendar: 260 Work Days

Rate: starting at $27.28 per hour with Benefits

Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee’s salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides technical assistance and serves as the main contact for assessment questions.

Provides assessment information and other related data to administrators, schools, and other programs.

Independently conducts research, develops current training material and trains building staff in the area of assessment.

Monitors district’s assessment practices and systems to ensure the district is in compliance with assessment related policies and procedures.

Communicates directly with the Oregon Department of Education regarding state assessment and report any testing improprieties.

Compiles data reports for building and district departments.

Attends and represents the district at out-of-district regional meetings with ODE staff and assessment staff from other districts.

Represents administrators, as assigned, in communications with staff, parents, the public, and students to facilitate issue resolution, provide accurate information, and support effective program management pertaining to assessment practices, systems and data.

Interprets policy and procedures, within district guidelines, for staff, students, parents, and others, in a timely and accurate fashion.

Reviews and analyzes data to ensure accurate collection for assessment accountability.

Under the direction of an administrator, collects and prepares data to meet reporting requirements for grants and other state and federal requirements.

Manages all aspects of online and paper-based state assessments, including administration, analysis, reporting, and district testing windows, and distribution and collection of testing materials.

Works with Title III and Special Education directors in the coordination of ELPA and Extended Assessments.

Serves as co-Synergy security officer to manage appropriate staff access.

Maintains, stores, and retrieves information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard office systems, equipment and software, including web based design programs.

Leads the work of others, as assigned, in a manner that promotes team development and effective work.

Effectively works with and responds to people from diverse cultures or backgrounds.

Performs other related services as assigned, including short and long term projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in developing training materials and training.

Ability to lead, coach, and mentor staff and students.

Experience using web Page editors and text editors to create and maintain HTML documents.

Experience using desktop applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in carrying out work assignments.

Ability to understand the district’s instructional goals and carry out work assignments in a manner that supports those goals.

Ability to travel among district facilities as needed; if driving, the ability to meet district driving standards for the position.

Ability to present information to a variety of audiences using efficient and effective communication.

Working knowledge of ODE rules and regulations pertaining to assessment.

Knowledge and/or experience with systems of standards (student learning objectives) and standards- based instruction and assessment.
