Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and flexible Program & Administrative Associate to join our growing team. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and enjoys contributing across multiple areas of an organization.
The ideal candidate will support a range of tasks and programs, including administration, volunteer coordination, grant writing and fundraising, program development, and event planning. This role is flexible and can be tailored to your unique skill set, with opportunities for growth and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Assist the Executive Director with office projects and daily operations
Support communication with residents, staff, and volunteers
Help manage calendars, documents, and internal systems
Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Volunteer Leadership
Recruit, coordinate, and communicate with volunteer groups
Lead and support volunteer teams during onsite service projects
Organize recognition efforts to celebrate volunteer contributions
Grant Writing & Fundraising
Research and identify potential grant opportunities
Assist in writing and submitting grant proposals
Maintain accurate records of grant applications and deadlines
Support fundraising efforts and events as needed
Program Development & Community Engagement
Support Sparrow’s year-long program for homeless families
Engage with residents through mentoring, encouragement, and community-building activities
Help develop and implement new programs and services as needs arise
Event Planning
Assist with planning and coordinating community dinners, fundraising events, and volunteer gatherings
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a heart for service
Experience or interest in nonprofit work, social services, or community outreach
Ability to take initiative and work independently or collaboratively
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, and calendar tools
Grant writing, fundraising, or technical writing experience (a plus, but not required)
Comfortable leading groups and interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds
