Forklift Operator
Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking aForklift Operatorfor an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with a client in Brownsville, OR. This full-time role involves operating various types of forklifts to move products, equipment, and materials within the warehouse and production areas. Candidates who successfully complete the evaluation period will be hired directly by the client company, which offers a comprehensive benefits package upon permanent hire.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation:Safely operate gas, electric, or liquefied gas-powered forklifts to move materials in the warehouse, storage yard, or factory.
Pre-Shift Checks:Ensure forklifts are properly maintained, including filling propane tanks, checking fluids, and blowing out equipment.
Loading and Unloading:Stack raw materials neatly, load trucks with accurate counts and paperwork, and secure loads with proper seals.
Warehouse Maintenance:Sweep and clean the warehouse daily, empty trash bins, and ensure the workspace is organized.
Assistance in Production:Support other production areas as needed, including moving and wrapping completed products, and assisting with pellet mills.
Safety Compliance:Always wear seat belts and operate the forklift at a safe speed.
Qualifications:
Education:High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:Prior forklift and production line experience preferred; ability to pass company forklift training.
Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for at least 7 hours per day, and handle extended periods of concentration and multitasking.
Skills:Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, basic math calculations, and the ability to read and interpret scales.
