Gathering Together Farm in Philomath, Oregon, is seeking a part-time Farm Lunch Cook. On our working organic produce farm, there are a team of chefs who prepare meals for the field crews and other farm employees. Crew lunch is a time-honored tradition that brings everyone together to share a meal 5 times per week. It's also, literally, the fuel that runs the engine of this very labor-intensive operation. These meals are also considered one of the farm's best employee benefits so care, consideration, and timing in the planning and delivery are vital.
This position shares the kitchen with our bakery and lunch service staff for the restaurant. Gathering Together Farm, has a 35 seat farm-to-table restaurant and Farm Stand on the property.
Position Type, and expected Hours of Work:
8-12 hours a week
Farm Lunch service: 12:30pm Thursdays-Fridays
There is potential for this position to have more hours.
Responsibilities:
Planning, purchasing, and preparing a meal by 12:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays
Serving and cleaning up afterwards
Preferred qualifications and experience:
Possession of / or ability to possess a Food Handlers Card.
Performs additional duties as directed by management.
Experience planning and cooking meals
Adhering to food safety guidelines and safely operating kitchen equipment
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
