The Mushroomery is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and organized individual to run a farmers’ market for us once a week on Saturdays.

We are a certified organic, family-owned mushroom farm that offers gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, grow-your-own indoor and outdoor mushroom kits, dried mushrooms, mushroom spices, and a wide variety of wild harvested mushrooms.

Requirements –

Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.

Able to work with customers -customer service experience preferred.

Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and credit card transactions.

Interest to learn about mushroom flavors, how to prepare, and cook them

(prior experience with mushrooms not necessary).

A commitment to complete the entire market season which runs January 20-

November 23. We depend on this market for a big chunk of our income. We

are looking for a dependable employee who has a good work ethic.

Tidy, clean appearance while working.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and be detail-oriented.

Description of Job Tasks–

Arrive at the farm, load the van, and drive to the farmers market, usually in Beaverton,

sometimes in Corvallis. Hours are from about 5:15am to 4:00pm.

At the farmers market set up tent, tables, mushroom displays, etc.

Help customers and provide excellent customer service, answer questions

customers may have about our products, weigh mushrooms on a digital scale,

collect money, restock table with mushrooms, keep a full display, and a tidy booth.

Take down market setup and pack everything up in a tidy, organized manner.

After returning to the farm, unload and restock for the following week.

Training: You will be trained at the Corvallis Farmers Market January 20-February 3. After the training period you will

be working alone. We pay $16 an hour during training markets, then pay increases to $20 an hour, paid in cash.
