Job Summary:Under direct supervision, perform a variety of linen duties to provide linen service to all hospital departments and medical offices as required following practice, routine or established procedure.Essential Responsibilities:

Receive linen from commercial linen service; assist in unloading linen as required; inspect, count, sort, and store linen in appropriate storage areas.

Assemble linen packs, including sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc.

Distribute linen to appropriate hospital department according to linen requisitions and/or control sheets; box or wrap and label outlying clinics linen for delivery by hospital driver.

Maintain cleanliness of linen room equipment, work tables, and work areas.

Refer difficult linen problems to supervisor such as discrepancies in department requisitions, commercial linen service invoices, etc.

Receive and place telephone calls, answer routine questions, and relay messages to appropriate personnel following practice, routine or established procedure.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.

Must have basic math skills in order to take and place linen orders and do inventory.

Must be able to transport 200 pound linen carts and lift 25 pounds consistently throughout day.

Must be able to be on feet for eight hours shift.

Must work well with others.
