Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Landscape Irrigation Installer to join our team in Central Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in full-cycle irrigation system installation for commercial landscapes—from layout and trenching to controller setup and system testing. Candidates must be able to interpret plans, install systems efficiently and professionally, and work both independently and as part of a crew. Responsibilities / Activities:

Install commercial irrigation systems including mainlines, laterals, valves, heads, and drip systems.

Interpret and implement landscape and irrigation plans accurately.

Use equipment such as trenchers, skid steers, excavators, and pipe pullers safely and efficiently.

Set up and program irrigation controllers and sensors (2 wire and conventional).

Ensure all systems meet local codes and client specifications.

Perform system pressure testing and troubleshooting during installation.

Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and clients on job progress.

Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness.

Key Performance Metrics:

Installation Accuracy: Systems installed per plan, with minimal corrections needed.

Timeliness: Projects completed within or ahead of schedule.

System Functionality: Zero system failures or rework within 30 days post-install.

Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or equipment misuse.

Efficiency: Labor hours tracked against budgeted hours within acceptable range.

Pivotal Details:

Reading and executing from blueprints and irrigation layouts.

Installing pipe (PVC/Poly), valves, boxes, and backflow prevention devices.

Wiring and programming controllers.

Coordinating with other trades on-site during installation.

Adapting field decisions when unexpected conditions arise (e.g., rocky soil, utility conflicts).

Seasonal Responsibilities:

Spring–Fall: Full-scale system installation, expansion projects, and retrofits.

Late Fall: Continued installation work while adapting to freezing temps.

Winter (if applicable): Snow removal services (plow operation, sidewalk crews, etc).

Daily Responsibilities

Report to assigned site on time with required tools/PPE.

Review plans and materials with supervisor.

Perform assigned irrigation tasks (trenching, piping, wiring, etc.).

Log progress via company prescribed systems and communicate issues.

Ensure daily clean-up of job site.

Weekly Responsibilities:

Review weekly project goals and timelines with supervisors.

Participate in safety meetings and job walk-throughs.

Confirm materials/equipment availability for upcoming phases.

Document change orders or site adjustments.

Collaborate with team to meet or exceed production goals.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2–3 years of commercial irrigation installation experience.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required).

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors for extended periods.

Familiarity with Central Oregon soil types and climate is a plus.

Backflow license, CDL, or other certifications are a bonus.
