COIC is looking for a passionate individual who enjoys both mentoring and empowering at risk youth but also networking and developing relationships with local employers. This is a salaried position at $3,721.00 - $6,524.00/Monthly, DOE and Qualifications. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for working with youth and young adults with a background in mentoring or coaching individuals facing barriers to success. Job Details:

Job Title – Youth Employment Counselor, Internship Specialist

Hours/Days – Normal Business Hours, Monday - Friday

Based out of Madras, OR

Summary of Duties:

Mentor, coach, and assist youth toward achieving personal growth and success. Work with local school districts and numerous local partners as part of the COICs Youth Compass Program to recapture youth who have or are at risk of dropping out of regular school. Responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing employment and training opportunities for enrolled youth aged 16-24. Primarily placing youth and young adults into internships with local businesses and organizations.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- A high school diploma and two years of relevant experience in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted. Must have one (1) year's supervisory experience.

- Ability to work independently, diplomatically, and as part of a team.

- Ability to self-manage time effectively and efficiently.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of the Central Oregon labor market, the public/private business sectors, and local community resources.

- Knowledge of group facilitation, counseling techniques, and teaching methods.

- Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and MS Office Suite.
