The Sisters Science Club is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to handle program planning for its Frontiers in Science lectures at The Belfry. This would include working closely with the Board of Directors to select a topic, implementing all the steps necessary to secure a speaker, advertising the lecture, and producing the event for approximately 130 attendees. Three lectures are generally held in the fall with four in the following spring. Each lecture generally requires about 12 hours of intermittent work for planning and production.
Skills required: Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to work independently (online, except for lecture attendance); knowledge of social media, traditional media, and email software such as Mailchimp; and superior organization abilities. An interest in science and adult education would be a plus.
This will be a contracted position, with a standard stipend for each lecture and a mutual commitment to producing the 2024-25 lecture series. The contracted stipend amount is dependent on experience and demonstrated abilities, two letters of recommendation, and the parameters of the charitable contribution that will fund the position.
Deadline for inquiries is April 30.
