Our Shelter Services Program seeks enthusiastic, compassionate, patience and caring individuals to work as Shelter Attendants. Come join our team!
First Shift Shelter Attendants work one to five days per week with 5-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Starting rate is $15 per hour. This is a seasonal position December – March
Second Shift Shelter Attendants work one to five days per week with 5-hour shifts from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Starting rate is $15 per hour. The is a seasonal position December – March
Overnight Shelter Attendants work one to three days per week doing 12-hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Pay rate is $18 per hour. This year round position
First & Second Shelter Attendants are seasonal positions during the winter months from December until March. They may occasional work weekend shifts in extreme weather conditions (if below freezing on Saturday and Sundays).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
-Setup guest sleeping areas and supplies
-Conduct guest intake and registration activities
-Ensures that guest information and data is obtained and recorded daily and made available to Shelter Services Manager
-Participate in the shelter feeding process to provide guests with nutritious meals
-Provide assistance to shelter guests to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
-Assist guests with obtaining donated resources as appropriate during their shelter stay
-Monitor guests and shelter environment for safety and compliance with shelter rules and policies
-Maintain the shelter as a quiet sleeping area
-Respond to off-track or emergency situations
-Notify law enforcement, medical, emergency responder and Shelter Services Coordinator/Shelter Services Manager when situations arise
-Wake guests in time to retrieve personal belongings and receive morning meals when exiting the shelter
-The stripping of beds and the running of laundry. Assist guests in sanitation and storage of bedding daily
-General surface cleaning is required; tables, counters and bathrooms

We also have openings in our Laundry Love program, which is basically washing clothes for $13 an hour. This happens only on Thursdays from 1:00PM - 4:00PM. This also a great way to get connected at the shelter if you have been interested in helping in some way!
