Job Title: Shelter Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Position Summary:
The Shelter Manager plays a vital role in leading the day-to-day operations of the shelter, ensuring it is a safe, welcoming, clean, and supportive environment for both staff and guests. This position requires strong leadership skills, a heart for service, and a commitment to fostering unity among team members. The Shelter Manager is responsible for supervising shelter staff, managing guest services through case management, maintaining accurate data in the HMIS system, and building strong partnerships with local service providers. We are fully funded Christian non profit with different locations in Central Oregon. This position is NOT located in Bend, Oregon.
Salary: 40k-60k depending on experience
Qualifications:
-Experience in shelter operations, case management, or human services is preferred but not required.
-Leadership or supervisory experience required.
-Proficiency in or willingness to learn HMIS data systems.
-Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
-Ability to work with diverse populations with compassion and professionalism.
Work Environment:
This role is based on-site shifts Monday through Friday (8 hour flexible shifts) and may involve evening or weekend hours as needed. Must be able to respond to urgent issues and maintain calm under pressure. There will be certain nights our manager will need to be on call by phone.
