Seasonal On Call Wildland Firefighter, TYPE 4 Engine position. NO experience necessary but welcome. Fire season in the North West usually starts and ends July -Sept. We average about 13 hr work shifts daily and can be out 2-3 weeks at a time. 100 hr. work weeks happen often. This position would go out on our first Engine and depending on performance and unforeseen circumstances would keep it throughout the fire season. Must live within a 2-3 hrs. of Central Oregon and have reliable transportation.
We are a small family company with 24 yrs firefighting experience. Entry level firefighters must take a multi day class with a physical pack test which is 3 miles with 45 lbs. pack in 45 minutes. Experienced take one day refresher and pack test. Class is free if working for us. Safety is #1 priority, Pride in Performance, Getting home to our loved ones, .
