Job description

Responsibilities:

Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone.

Checks patient in for visit & checks out after visit if needed.

Answering telephones & takes precise & detailed messages/inquiries.

Accurately schedules patient appointments in person or by telephone.

Obtains required information from patient based on practice requirements and patient appointment type, ensuring patients complete all required information.

Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival.

Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions.

Ensures availability of treatment information by filing/scanning and retrieving patient records.

Neatly maintaining the reception area.

Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.

Accurate posting of patient payments.

Daily balancing of patient payment & cash box.

Running daily end of day payment summary & completing daily bank deposit.

Copying & sending requested medical records as per HIPAA & office policy

Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies

Appropriately sends orders & requested patient information as needed/requested.

Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

Contributes to team effort by completing any other tasks needed to support patient care.

Experience:

Previous experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist preferred

Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems, Epic experience strongly preferred

Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with patients in a professional manner

Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

The schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
