Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Manager to oversee the day-to-day care and management of residents in our Adult Family Home for individuals with mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting those with mental health challenges, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for our residents. This is a live in caregiver position will need to be in the home 5 days and night. You will have your own master bedroom with bathroom and walkin closet.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Care: Provide direct support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and emotional support.
Resident Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by providing consistent supervision, guidance, and encouragement in their daily routines.
Medication Management: Monitor medication schedules, administer medications as prescribed, and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
Health Monitoring: Keep track of each resident's mental and physical health, reporting any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals as needed.
Activity Coordination: Plan and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the needs and interests of residents, promoting positive social interactions and skill-building.
Crisis Intervention: Address challenging behaviors with resident and understanding, using de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when necessary.
Household Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming living environment for residents, including overseeing meal planning, cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of residents' daily activities, behaviors, progress, and incidents. Complete required reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
Communication: Act as a point of contact between residents, families, healthcare providers, and external agencies. Keep open communication to ensure the best possible care for residents.
Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training in mental health care, crisis intervention, and any other relevant areas to stay updated on best practices.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a mental health care setting, preferably working with adults in a residential care environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in mental health, social work, nursing, or related fields is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact positively with residents, families, and professionals.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively, with a focus on empathy and resident-centered care.
Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Need to be CPR and First Aid Certification: Must be current or willing to obtain upon hiring.
Background Check: Must pass a background check and be eligible for employment.
