Bookmark this Posting | Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Information Position Title 3-D Lab Assistant I (Part Time, Temporary Hourly, Non-Benefited) Classification Title Temporary PT Hourly Hourly rate, Stipend, or Load Unit $14.20/hr Close Date Position Type/Employee Class Temporary PT Hourly Overtime Eligible Non-Exempt FLSA Status Campus Location Bend Primary Purpose The 3-D Lab assistant is responsible for monitoring and providing assistance in the 3-D labs on the Bend and Redmond campuses during open lab hours to students working with design software, laser engravers, 3D printers, CNC machines, and various manufacturing equipment.Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities

The 3-D Lab assistant ensures the safe operation and security of lab equipment, assisting students with design software and equipment usage, and conducting clean-up and maintenance duties.

They are responsible for shutting down all equipment and securing the lab at the close of each shift.

May be asked to support other labs or related events as needed.

The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies.

Proficient experience using SolidWorks and CAM software.

Accuracy and technical craftsmanship when 3D modeling and processing CAM files.

Experience with 3D printing, laser engraving or CNC machining.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and flexibility in performing various tasks.

Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, staff and faculty.

Conflict management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Consistent and reliable customer service skills.

Ability to develop strong working relationships with people of different cultural backgrounds and other aspects of human diversity.

Ability to use software including Microsoft Office Suite.

Ergonomic Requirements

A flexible work schedule may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Opportunities may exist for evening or weekend hours.Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in a sculpture studio and wood shop. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. May need to use a ladder. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED .

Computer literacy

Experience with Fusion 360 and other CAD programs.

Experience with Adobe software and other image-enhancing and vector-based programs.

Experience monitoring and assisting in a lab environment, particularly with design and manufacturing equipment.
