Oregon, Bend, 97701 Bend USA
Aplica ya

The Pine Siskin School is a small Waldorf based program located in Sisters, Oregon serving a mixed preschool and kindergarten program of twelve students. We are going into our third school year and are excited for the energy the program has and the wonderful support of our community.

We are ideally looking for a new full time teaching member to join our certified Waldorf lead teacher, but we are also open to hiring for two part-time positions: one as a teaching assistant from 8:00 to 1:00 and another to provide aftercare from 1:00 to 4:30. Ideally, applicants will be knowledgeable of Waldorf Education and have their Waldorf teacher training. We would be interested in someone who has other educational backgrounds and is highly interested in the Waldorf pedagogy.

A minimum of two years teaching experience is preferred. We are primarily looking for someone caring and reliable so the children have a nurturing and consistent presence in the coming year.

The hours of the full time position are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 - 4:30. School drop off is between 8:30-9:00 and our core program runs till 1:00. The after school program begins at 1:00, and if full time, the teacher will stay and hold our aftercare program on their own with a smaller group until 4:15 pick up. We have a half day Friday program that runs 8:30 - 12:30, ideally this would be the same person, however we are open to finding a separate Friday teacher if necessary. Our Friday program is fully outdoor located on a farm in town. Typically we are at the farm until Thanksgiving, and then it resumes at the farm after spring break. Our winter Friday offering will depend on the need of the community and availability of the teacher.

With our small school being located in the center of Sisters, we have wonderful accessibility of the town and often take the children to the public parks, splash pad and sometimes to the creek. Our program has a relationship with a local farm and spends every Wednesday at the farm during the fall and spring months. Friday care is also held at the farm during those times.
