Landscape Warranty Supervisor

Mountain Sky, Inc. is seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Landscape Warranty Supervisor. This position is responsible for responding to warranty service needs including inspecting and determining action needed for repair or replacement, communicating with customers, completing warranty service orders and overseeing the work involved for the assigned landscape crew.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for warranty service orders received from customers.

Locates warranty service order, reviews / completes data entry in system to record and track service request.

Follows process to open customer service ticket within customer’s customer management software program.

Reviews existing and completed warranty service tickets to avoid duplicate entry.

Completes inspection of warranty item (plants, trees, pavers, water features, repairs, etc.) to determine necessary steps if needed for correction, taking pictures and documenting action as necessary.

Books replacements and coordinates with production team to get installed.

Coordinates billing items as needed.

Assists division managers and supervisors with directing, organizing and overseeing all aspects of landscape construction and maintenance sites to assure quality and timely completion of work site requirements

Leads by example, and provides guidance for crew members, in regard to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct and dress code.

Communicates with and provides exceptional customer service to property owners and account managers.

Identify problems at the work site and follow through appropriately, consulting with production coordinator or production manager as appropriate.

Assist with snow route manager duties during the winter months as business needs dictate.

Oversees snow removal team for assigned sites during snow events.

Ensures team’s compliance with company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides direction and delegation of tasks to landscape crew members.

Provides mentoring, coaching, constructive feedback and training of landscape crew members.

Fosters a positive team-oriented work environment, resolving issues as they arise.

Approves time and ensures accuracy of hours for payroll of assigned staff

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed outdoors during all seasons.

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather (rain, snow, heat or cold).

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required for duties such as equipment operation that expose the individual to elevated noise levels.

Duties of this position may expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual will demonstrate and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to effectively communicate and interact, in a positive manner, with all company personnel, regulatory agencies, customers, consultants and other contractor personnel is also required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education, Certification and License

Valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.

Experience

A minimum of 3-5 years of landscape experience is required.

Previous foreman or crew leader experience is preferred.

Technical Requirements

Advanced horticulture and plant knowledge is required.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Ability to direct and lead employees of various skill level and experience to ensure desired end result.

Applied knowledge of effective landscaping skills and techniques.

Knowledge of trees, shrubs and other landscape products.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is helpful.

Physical Requirements

Stands and walks for long periods of time throughout the day.

Squats, stoops, or kneels and lifts objects from ground frequently.

Full extension of arms above head and in front of body.

Consistently lifts and carries weight of up to 50 pounds.

Fine motor skills required for use of small equipment and hand tools.

Job Specifications

This is a full-time seasonal position.

Typical work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to 5:00pm during our peak season (approximately April to November). Friday hours as needed.

Hours vary in winter months (approximately December through March) based on snow removal needs.

Overtime may be required as workload dictates.
