We are a growing accounting firm in Prineville, Oregon that is looking for a tax preparer/payroll processor. Full-time (36 hours) in-office position. Hours during tax season (January to April) are Monday through Friday 8:30 to 3:00. Off tax-season hours are Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 4:30 and Friday 8:30 – noon. Overtime will be required during tax season.
Pay is DOE but will start at $25/hour. Position to start as soon as possible.
Duties include:
Individual tax preparation for IRS and Oregon. Will include preparing Schedule’s A, C, E and others.
Payroll processing duties for weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly payroll. Filing quarterly and annual reports. Scheduling payroll tax deposits. Training available for payroll.
Backup for front desk if needed.
The ideal candidate will:
High school diploma or equivalent; completed coursework from an accredited college/university is preferred.
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience preparing individual tax returns.
Be a CPA/EA/LTC (not required)
Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Be proficient in tax software (Lacerte) and QuickBooks.
Have high attention to detail with good analytical skills.
Be willing to overtime if needed.
Have a dependable work ethic.
