WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a Senior Principal, Insights & Analytics, Mens as part of the Insights & Analytics (I&A) leadership team in the Asia Pacific & Latin America (APLA) geo. This person will be part of the multi-functional squad delivering value for the men consumers in APLA!As the ideal candidate, you will apply your demonstrated ability to cultivate innovation to not only ideate but also deliver measurable business value against the critical initiatives defined by the APLA Men’s GM. Additionally, as a senior member of the APLA I&A team, you will also play an outsized role in the day-to-day work of modeling new ways of working for the broader team.WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will extract meaning from data using standard BI and analytics tools to transform, organize, and model the data to draw conclusions and identify patterns. You will use your knowledge of APLA Men’s business priorities as well as your analytical expertise to synthesize consumer and commercial insights that are meaningful and impactful to APLA consumers and marketplaces.
Widely recognized as an expert, you will apply extensive knowledge of subject matter areas, theories, and practices to guide the development of new approaches and best practices. You will translate organizational vision into functional plans and guide the execution of those plans.
You’ll steep yourself in prior research and existing capabilities – that is, you’ll be a super user of datasets, dashboards, and models published by other analytics teams. You will build on that foundation to deliver fresh insights for the current business cycle. You will share feedback with global capability owners to drive worldwide improvements in those capabilities.
You will generate actionable items and information used to inform strategic business decisions, business growth, and performance optimization. You’ll provide input to senior leadership, executives and technical fellow leadership on strategic planning and decision making.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHYou will report to the Senior Director, APLA Insights & Analytics, and be part of the APLA I&A leadership team. You’ll also sit on the APLA Men’s leadership team and work closely with the functions represented there (e.g., marketing, consumer merchandising, operations, integrated marketplace, planning, finance). In addition, you’ll partner with the Global Men’s Insights team to deliver worldwide insights and solutions.WHAT YOU BRING
An analytical mentality. Passion for data and ability to transform data into stories. Experience analyzing data and driving insights to inform business decisions in areas like marketing, product, merchandising, or planning.
10+ years of relevant professional experience in consumer insights, business analytics, decision science, or a mix of related business functions, with an emphasis on analytics and a demonstrable record of delivering measurable value and innovation to business partners.
Experience in developing an understanding of consumers, customers, competitors, and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
Expert skill level in business analytics. Ability to do own analysis end to end, including pulling own data from existing dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau, Cognos), writing straightforward custom SQL queries, developing basic strategic models and statistical analysis (whether in Python or Excel), and accurately interpreting results.
Ability to learn new methods and tools quickly and independently.
Expertise in distilling complex data into high-level themes and compelling takeaways for executive and non-technical audiences.
Ability to trade off value and speed – e.g., identifying practical solutions to implement quickly, valuing progress over perfection.
Demonstrable ability to work in multi-functional teams with multiple concurrent priorities.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, decision science, applied math, computer science, market research, econometrics, behavioral science, or other quantitative field or combination of relevant education, experience and training.
Advanced quantitative degree a plus.
