DescriptionAs a result of his/her demonstrated competencies across a broad range of Warehouse Operation functions, the Material Specialist can be assigned to perform a broad range of and direct activities and projects, among these and not limited to:

Coordinate, direct and perform cycle counting and inventory reconciliation functions.

Analyzes problems and resolves or reconciles discrepancies with parts and materials to maintain inventory and system accuracy. Assesses, verifies, and resolves any issues with the production or cycle counting processes. Looks for ways to improve accuracy in inventory tracking and works with staff to implement improvements.

Monitors workflow, visual or other execution indicators, Kanban's, pending transaction move and queue areas to ensure appropriate resources are devoted to maintaining cycle times and process completion targets.

Applies his/her expertise to co-coordinate, co-direct and execute special projects such (but not limited to) the onboarding of quarantined or previously unusable inventory or goods, warehouse moves and relay outs, workflow redistribution plans and development and deployment of new capabilities, tools, reports or other projects as assigned.

Facilitation: by design and intent, the Materials Specialist role is keynoted on the ideal candidate's ability and expertise at influencing upwards and downwards within the organizational structure to facilitate (enable, expedite, address and resolve barriers) to execution of both the daily work activities as well as special projects as assigned.

Provides work direction, guidance, skill-building coaching, training and development to less experienced and developed personnel within the Warehouse and related areas. Facilitation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Describe the minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications, etc., and related job experience that incumbent typically must have to perform the essential functions of the job acceptably.

3+ years' experience in or more of the various Logistics sub-disciplines such Shipping, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control with a proven track record of successfully growing skills and competencies.

Proven/demonstrated skills at providing first level work coordination and execution and growing and developing less experienced personnel, self and group problem identification and solving and Continuous Improvement

Interpersonal skills and abilities to ensure successful, effective and positive interactions with all internal and external customers of the Warehouse and other Logistics sub-discipline.

Maintain a good working relationship with all team members, stakeholders and customers.

Ability to address and resolve particularly difficult or contentious situations generally requiring cross-organizational alignment and/or sensitive cost, execution or supply/delivery matters.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present ideas, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels both internal and external to the company.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Fork lift certification or ability to obtain fork lift certification preferred.

Working knowledge of ISO 9000+STDS / AS9100B-C / AS9110

Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other applications such as Marshall – Ramco
